We would like to thank each of the donors who supported Children’s of Alabama in 2025, lighting the way for brighter and healthier futures for Alabama’s children. Every donation makes a profound difference in the lives of the children we serve. The generosity of our donors helps further patient care, research, and medical education—all of which are essential to our mission and directly impact our young patients. We are deeply grateful for the community’s unwavering commitment to helping us meet the unique needs of every child and family who walks through our doors.

Last spring, Children’s of Alabama celebrated the success of Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers’ annual Changing Oil, Changing Lives campaign, which raised more than $126,000 for the hospital’s Art and Expressive Therapy Program. This program offers our young patients a therapeutic outlet through art and music activities, helping to reduce stress and anxiety while promoting emotional well-being during their hospital stay. The ongoing support from Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers, alongside their dedicated customers and employees across Alabama, plays a crucial role in providing these important services.
Since launching in 2008, the Changing Oil, Changing Lives campaign has raised more than $1 million for Children’s of Alabama. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers for their unwavering commitment to improving the lives of our patients and families.
Since its inception, the Tee Off Fore a Cure golf tournament in Fairhope, Alabama, has been a beacon of hope and support for pediatric cancer research and treatment at Children’s of Alabama. The tournament was founded by Frances Grace Hirs and her family after her first diagnosis of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) when she was just 3 years old. Despite enduring three battles with cancer, including a lifesaving bone marrow transplant, Frances Grace and her family were determined to give back. In 2025, the event celebrated 20 years of incredible support, raising more than $1.8 million overall to support pediatric cancer research at Children’s of Alabama. Frances Grace’s resilience, spirit of hope, and commitment to helping others has created an impact that will make a difference for countless other patients.
In 2025, Children’s of Alabama celebrated a generous donation from Norfolk Southern to enhance critical care services for children across the state. Their donation of more than $450,000 supports the 50-bed expansion of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Children’s and funds the purchase of advanced simulation training mannequins for the Pediatric Simulation Center and the COACHES program, enhancing the education of health care professionals statewide.
Mark George, President and CEO of Norfolk Southern, expressed, “This gift is inspired by the families and care teams whose stories remind us that behind every hospital bed is a child with dreams, a family with hope, and a team fighting for their future.”
We are deeply grateful for Norfolk Southern’s commitment to improving pediatric care. Their partnership will have a lasting impact on the health and well-being of children and families in Alabama and beyond. It underscores Norfolk Southern’s dedication to strengthening health care and improving patient outcomes in the region.
